For most students, the social side of being at college or university is important: starting a new course, making new friends, getting to know the campus and new town or city, and it's also a time to party.
Away from home and the watchful eyes of parents and carers, some students will include drugs and alcohol as part of their social life. Add peer pressure and the desire to impress new friends into the mix, and things can quickly get out of hand.
Some might increase their existing drug use. Others might start using illegal drugs for the first time. We already know from research that 16-24-year-olds are the most prolific drug users in the UK, and university students are more likely to take drugs than those that don't attend.
Taking drugs and drinking alcohol comes with risks, particularly when they're consumed together. To help inform students and minimise the risks, we've put together a bespoke Students' Drug Package comprising four of our most popular awareness and harm-reduction resources.
